A core, founding belief of our company is to make sustainability and comfort accessible to all. Only 3% of underwear is sustainably sourced – a terrible statistic for something we wear every day and cannot buy second-hand.
We are very proud to have passed our B Corp assessment in 2022 with flying colours. This involved reviewing every part of our business from the sourcing of our raw materials and packaging to our environmental practices and how we treat our staff and suppliers. Hopefully, this demonstrates to you how we do things differently, and better.
The reality is that making and producing in a sustainable and ethical way is more expensive than producing a standard pair of knickers. We have kept our prices level since we began the business five years ago but sadly, our costs have increased substantially over the past 12 months. Raw materials, biodegradable packaging, energy supplies and labour, among other things, have all increased exponentially. As a small business, the time has now come to increase our prices so we can continue to produce the worlds comfiest knicker in the most sustainable way possible. On the 30th January, our prices will be increasing by up to 20%.
We know we are not the cheapest option for underwear shopping, but we hope you, our customers, can see the value in our products. We hear from so many of you that your Stripe & Stare is still going strong after many years of wearing and hope you continue to feel our prices represent amazing value for money allowing you to buy less but better.
